Trent & Vale: FAQ
-
We operate out of East Nottingham, covering areas such as Nottingham, West Bridgford, Bingham & Newark.
-
We work with children and young people across primary and secondary education. Support is tailored to the individual, so the most important thing is understanding the young person and what they need rather than simply their age or year group.
-
We can provide support across a range of academic areas, including Maths, English, Science and GCSE subjects. We can also support Functional Skills and develop broader skills such as organisation, study skills and preparation for life beyond education.
If you're looking for support in a particular subject, please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.
-
No. Academic tuition is just one part of what we offer.
Trent & Vale Education provides a broader range of educational support, including home learning, online learning, outdoor learning, hybrid learning, mentoring and personal development.
Our approach is designed around the individual young person rather than a fixed programme.
-
Yes. We have experience working with young people with a range of SEND and SEMH needs.
We take an individualised approach and consider factors such as communication, confidence, motivation, learning preferences and the environment in which the young person feels most comfortable.
We will always discuss your child's individual needs with you before beginning support.
-
This depends on the young person and the type of support they need.
Sessions may take place:
At home
Online
Outdoors
In community settings
Through a combination of different environments
The aim is to find an environment that helps the young person engage and make progress.
-
Session length will depend on the age, needs and goals of the young person.
We can discuss the most appropriate structure during the initial consultation rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
-
There isn't a set number of sessions that every young person needs.
Some may benefit from a weekly session, while others may require more regular support. We'll discuss your goals and recommend an appropriate approach based on your young person's needs.
-
Yes. Online learning is available as a standalone service or as part of a hybrid programme.
Online sessions can provide flexible one-to-one support without the need for travel and can be particularly useful when combined with other forms of learning.
-
Absolutely.
Parents and carers are an important part of the process. We work closely with families to understand the young person, agree goals and provide feedback on progress.
Where appropriate, we can also provide practical guidance and strategies that parents can use to support learning at home.
-
Yes. Matt holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and is registered with the DBS Update Service.
Parents and carers are welcome to request to see the relevant DBS certificate as part of the process of establishing appropriate safeguarding arrangements.
